Time To Play

August 18, 2008

IMG_0608.JPGWe have an obligation to never grow up. Its time to buy into a new religion, ” The spiritual path of Play.” Truth is, this faith is not new at all. Plato in his Laws says, ” Life must be lived as play, playing certain games, singing and dancing.”

I am incredibly unclear about my true purpose or how to offer my Self in service of a greater good. What I am clear about is that exercise that is play binds the split between my body and spirit. When I play, I pray. I am transported to another existence… the here and now of my inner child both becoming an adult and yet the secret to my adult remaining a child. What is necessary is sport and exercise that is play. Through that I connect with the oneness of time, space and soul.

I am heeding the inner call to my own play, rebuilding my life and career around sharing vision and knowledge about the wisdom and truth I have found. Being a physical trainer allows me to pursue my own perfection even while accepting the paradox that such a goal is simultaneously essential and inconsequential. For me play is not a question but an answer that continues to guide me to live life to the fullest. The human body is the most accessible portal to higher consciousness. There is nothing more incredible and spiritual than this.

I invite you to engage with me on this blog. To play with me around concepts and ideas. To build community and be contemplative. To see the art in play and to be believers, together.
